Hi and welcome to North Ingle School. We are a South Australian school, pre school to year 7. Over the years we have played a vital role in the education and social development to thousands of young people, encouraging them to reach their full potential and to reflect our school values of:
- Respect
- Caring
- Integrity
- Commitment
- Honesty
North Ingle School is continuing to move ahead in providing the right education for every student. Here we pursue excellence in all areas of a student's development, (academically, socially, emotionally, culturally and physically). In this rapidly changing world, we are preparing our students to take their place as valued citizens of Australia.
Our vision is that all students will value learning and be equipped to make decisions as active, successful and resilient community members. We achieve this vision together through partnerships with parents. You will always feel welcomed and encouraged at North Ingle as we pride ourselves on serving our community and helping families in anyway that we can. All members of our school community will see staff, students and volunteers actively using our school values.
North Ingle School has a Preschool and Out of School Hours Care as well as afterschool sports programs. Our music and dance programs includes guitar, piano, recorder, choir, dance and live performances. Our specialist area is Science and additional support is given to literacy and numeracy daily. We also offer a vibrant Homework Club every wednesday where years 3-7 students receive help with their homework tasks in an engaging and motivating environment with their friends.
We are recognised for our behaviour management program which encourages the development of children’s dispositions, character strengths and skills to develop and maintain respectful relationships. When a problem does occur, we ‘fix it fairly’ by using restorative practices so that there are no ‘left overs’. This means that problems do not fester or turn into grudges which can result in bullying.
Our highly skilled staff members work closely with the Junior School Council, parents, Governing Council, community members and local businesses. We have ably moved into local management, and are implementing the strategic priorities of our Site Learning Plan.
These include:
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Wellbeing
- Science
A major focus at North Ingle School has been to create increased time for literacy and numeracy through the implementation of Literacy Blocks and Mathematics for Inclusion Project. Reading Comprehension is our current literacy priority. We also have a specialist Science teacher and Cultural Studies program which incorporates Indonesian.
Through each priority, we ensure quality outcomes for all students. We provide a safe and supportive environment that promotes mutual respect and tolerance for others, self confidence, responsible decision making and acknowledges and celebrates personal and team achievement.
Our facilities are modern and all of our classrooms include interactive whiteboards which allows for innovative teaching practices. All classrooms contain computers and the hardware and software in our computer suite is regularly updated.
Parents, caregivers and friends are very welcome to contact Megan at school for further information or to arrange to visit our school. It will be our pleasure to walk around the school with you while the students are in class, tell you about our school programs and answer your questions.
